The Modern Warfare 2 beta comes in at 27.9GB on PlayStation 5, and 34.4GB on PlayStation 4. If you're waiting for the open portion of the beta on either PC or Xbox, you'll be able to download when the beta goes live for you on Saturday, September 24 at 10am PDT, 1pm EDT, 6pm BST, and 7pm CEST. The PC and Xbox pre-loads are live, too - but only for players who pre-ordered the game, or have acquired a beta code through any other means.

Simply navigate to the game's page on the PlayStation Store, hit the three dots and select the beta to download.

The pre-load is available now on PlayStation consoles, considering it's open for all PlayStation players in the next weekend.

That said, Activision itself and content creators/media usually give away codes on their social media accounts, so keep an eye out for that if you're eager to play early. If you'd rather wait for the open portion of the beta, you'll be able to download it freely through your console/PC's store and enjoy it without having to pre-order - but you won't be able to pre-load it. If you didn't get that email, check the same page again for your code. Pick your platform, and keep an eye on your email afterwards because you'll be sent your actual beta code - which is what will allow you to download the beta. If you instead made it through a retailer, like Amazon, you'll be emailed a code that you'll need to enter on this beta website. If you made the pre-order digitally, directly on your console/PC's store, you'll be automatically granted access. The early access portion of the weekend is available only to players who pre-ordered the game.
